New Q&A Feature Connects Citizens Directly with Community Answers

Salina311 launches service to help residents get responses from local authorities

Salina residents now have a new way to get answers to their questions about city services, local policies, and community issues through a Q&A feature recently launched by Salina311.

The new service allows community members to submit questions about anything happening in Salina, from city ordinances and public works projects to school district policies and county services. Salina311 staff will then reach out to the appropriate authorities and officials to get answers, which are published for the entire community to see.

"We recognized that individual citizens often struggle to get responses when they reach out to various departments and agencies," said Matt Moody, Salina311/Pulse CEO. "Our staff has the relationships and persistence needed to track down the right people and get answers. It's part of our role as the community's paper of record."

The Q&A feature addresses a common frustration many residents face when trying to navigate local government or understand community decisions. While individuals might find their calls unreturned or emails unanswered, Salina311's established relationships with local officials and agencies typically yield faster, more complete responses.

Questions can be submitted through the Salina311 website, and answers will be published online where they can benefit other residents who might have similar questions. The service covers topics ranging from city council decisions and public safety policies to utility issues and development projects.

"Sometimes people don't even know which department or agency to contact," Joshua Barnhart, Executive Director of Salina311 explained. "We take that guesswork out of the equation and make sure questions reach the right desk."

The feature represents Salina311's commitment to transparency and civic engagement, ensuring that community members have access to the information they need to stay informed about their city and participate meaningfully in local issues.

Residents can submit their questions by visiting events.salina311.com. Published Q&As will be archived and searchable, creating a growing resource of community information.
