National Night Out Celebration

In a display of community spirit, citizens gathered at Jerry Ivey Memorial Park yesterday to celebrate National Night Out with law enforcement and first responders from around Saline County. The Salina Police Department was honored with the prestigious N.N.O. G.O.A.T. award for showcasing the best display of the day.

National Night Out is an annual event held on the first Tuesday in August. The purpose is to enhance the relationship between law enforcement and the community in which they serve. Kids were able to talk to officers and first responders, while trying on their gear and seeing how certain equipment works.
