The Rebecca A. Morrison House at Salina Regional Health Center will celebrate its 32nd anniversary with a public open house on Monday, November 24, from noon to 2 p.m. at 513 S. Eighth Street. Guests are invited to tour the home, enjoy cookies, and learn about the services offered to families of hospitalized patients and individuals receiving outpatient treatment at the Tammy Walker Cancer Center.
To mark the milestone, the Morrison House is launching a $32,000 fundraising campaign. Thanks to generous supporters, all donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $16,000, doubling the impact of each gift. Community contributions are needed to help reach the full goal.
The Morrison House provides lodging at no cost to guests and is funded entirely through donations. Since opening, it has welcomed nearly 30,000 guests, offering more than 130,000 nights of accommodations. Visitors have come from all 50 states, 18 countries, and 453 Kansas communities, with most guests arriving from north central Kansas.
โWe hear every day from guests what a tremendous gift the Morrison House is for families and patients facing difficult times,โ said Lisa Hoffman, Morrison House manager. โOur locationโright next door to the hospitalโkeeps families and patients together when they need it most.โ
The Morrison House is operated by the Salina Regional Health Foundation. More information about the home and the anniversary fundraising campaign is available at srhealthfoundation.com.
