Michelle Newell Elected as Saline County Register of Deeds, Effective October 1, 2024

The Saline County Republican Central Committee has elected Michelle Newell as the new Register of Deeds, effective October 1, 2024, to fill the unexpired term of current Register of Deeds Rebecca Seeman, who is retiring. The committee's decision will be sent to the Governor for approval.

Rebecca Seeman, who has served as Register of Deeds since 1999, submitted her resignation due to her upcoming retirement. Michelle Newell, who has worked in the Register of Deeds office for 18 years, won the August primary and is running unopposed in the November general election.

"With Michelle's election to fill the unexpired term, this should provide for a smooth transition in the Register of Deeds office," said Brenda Smith, Saline County Republican Party Chair.
