Kansas Wesleyan Men's Golf tied for seventh place with two other teams at the Northwest Iowa National Invitational at Willow Creek Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday.
The Coyotes finished with a team score of 896 for the tournament, tying with Morningside and Southwestern Christian. The Coyotes posted a first round score of 299 and followed with a 304 in the second round. In Tuesday's third round, the Coyotes posted a 293.
Trevor Watson led the Coyotes finishing with a 218 (74-70-74) tying for 15th place. Jackson Malone tied for 26th posting a 224 (74-77-73), Brooks Gunn (74-83-72) and Joey Wisocki (77-75-77) tied for 41st, both posting a score of 229. Ethan Vikander was 59th with a 239 (83-82-74).
Texas Wesleyan captured the team championship at the event, posting a score of 859, including the low team round of the tournament on Tuesday with a 276. The Rams finished two shots ahead of Ottawa (Ariz.) who finished with an 861. MidAmerica Nazarene was third, Bellevue was fourth, Friends was fifth, and Grand View was sixth in the 12-team field.
Juan Ricardo Davila Bone of Texas Wesleyan and Colby Unruh of MidAmerica Nazarene tied for first place individually with a score of 208, but Davila Bone would win on the first playoff hole to claim the individual title. The duo finished five shots ahead of four other players.
Up next for the Coyotes is the Central Plains Invitational, hosted by Kansas Wesleyan, at Salina Country Club next Monday and Tuesday.
