UPDATE: 2 Arrested in Connection with Saline County Burglary after Home Reported Broken into a Second Time
In the early hours of Monday, February 12, deputies responded to a call at the same address in the 4000 block of N Woodward, for another reported burglary. The residence, equipped with a recently installed security system, had detected unauthorized individuals on the premises. Deputies found no suspects on-site but confirmed another break-in had occurred.
Among the items pilfered during this latest intrusion were an internet modem, security camera, and a suitcase of books, amounting to a total value of $425. Utilizing remote video footage, deputies identified potential suspects as Wallace Holmes, aged 54, and Andrea Randecker, aged 51.
Subsequent investigation efforts led to the procurement of a search warrant for a residence in central Salina. Inside, deputies purportedly uncovered the missing meat and a game camera. Deputies later apprehended both Holmes and Randecker within Salina.
Holmes faces requested charges of two counts of burglary, theft, damage to property, and trespass, while Randecker has requested charges of burglary, theft, trespass, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A residential burglary was reported in the 4000 block of N Woodward between the evening hours of February 7 and 10 am on February 9. The unoccupied property was discovered with a forced-open door by a family member. Upon entry, a scene of disarray greeted the deputies and homeowner, with belongings strewn about haphazardly.
The inventory of missing items includes frozen meats, essential household supplies such as paper towels and toilet paper, along with a desk light and portable furnace. Furthermore, the forced entry resulted in $450 worth of damage to the door.
The total estimated loss from the burglary amounts to $1250.
