Major Winter Storm to Hit Salina - Difficult Travel Conditions Expected

A major winter storm is expected this weekend. Freezing drizzle and drizzle will overspread much of the area this morning into the afternoon. A transition to freezing rain and sleet will occur late this evening into tonight before a full transition to snow Sunday morning. The greatest snow accumulations are expected along and north of the Interstate 70 corridor while the greatest ice accumulations are expected along Highway 50. Regardless of the amounts at your location, the combination of snow, ice, and wind gusts up to 50 mph will create difficult to impossible travel conditions tonight through Sunday. This combination will lead to at least sporadic power outages.
