On June 30th, 2021, the NCAA approved the Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) Policy, enabling students to be compensated for the use of their NIL. Long McArthur Ford, known for its innovative advertising strategies, was among the first businesses in Kansas to embrace this opportunity. Almost three years later, Long McArthur has forged partnerships with notable athletes such as Skylar Thompson, the former K-State quarterback drafted by the Miami Dolphins, and Adrian Martinez, another former K-State quarterback currently on the Detroit Lions roster.
Long McArthur's current collaborations extend to other K-State quarterbacks, including Will Howard and Avery Johnson, as well as Gradey Dick, a basketball player for the University of Kansas (KU). Dick, who was named Gatorade's National Basketball Player of the Year, decided to enter the 2023 NBA Draft after playing one year for KU.
Last night, Gradey Dick's talents were recognized as he was drafted 13th by the Toronto Raptors. Additionally, on the previous Saturday, Dick made an appearance at Long McArthur, attracting approximately 200 individuals from as far as Wichita and Kansas City who traveled to Salina to have their photo taken with the esteemed basketball star.
