Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony

Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony

The city of Salina will pay tribute to fallen law enforcement officers and honor their service on May 17, at 8 am, in Jerry Ivey Park, located at 2465 Edward. This event coincides with National Police Week, as declared by the Congress and the President of the United States from May 14-20.

The ceremony is an opportunity for the city to recognize the valor, service, and sacrifice of its peace officers as well as those of other agencies both local and nationwide. The event holds special significance as Salina has lost four brave officers in the line of duty. These heroes are Officer John Stonebraker (EOW 2-12-1917), Officer Tom Carson (EOW 11-29-1920), Officer Diney E Eaton (EOW 5-31-1942), and Officer Jerry R Ivey (EOW 6-13-1975).

The event is open to the public. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at First Southern Baptist Church located at 2401 S Ohio. After the ceremony, refreshments will be provided for all attendees.
