KWU's Parker Finishes 12th at NAIA Nationals in Javelin

Kansas Wesleyan's Cole Parker placed a 12th place finish in the men's javelin on Wednesday at the NAIA Men's Track and Field National Championships at Indiana Wesleyan University.

Parker had a best mark of 58.31m on his second throw of the day, after tossing a 41.44m mark on his first throw, and followed with a 54.88m mark on his third and final throw.

Parker finished just ahead of Evan Olson from Corban (Ore.) in the standings, but trailed Baker's Gage Hiebert who had a mark of 58.61m.

Reinhardt's David Friedberg claimed the national championship in the event with a mark of 65.93m in the finals. Andrew Mitchell of Southern Oregon was second with a 64.93m mark and Jakob Blatkik of Point Park was third with a 62.92m.

Parker will compete again on Friday in the shot put.
