KWU Women’s Track & Field Competes at Friends Spring Invitational

Kansas Wesleyn Women's Track and Field faced a strong pool of competition from all levels at the 2024 Friends University Spring Invitational that ran from Thursday through Saturday at Adair-Austin Stadium at Friends University.
 
In the 5000m, Madisyn Ehrlich finished fifth with a time of 18:16.76, Joni Schroeder was 10th with a time of 19:34.60, Charlee Lind was 11th with a time of 20:27.10, and Allyson Taylor was 12th with a time of 21:08.93.
 
Elizabeth Stout finished eighth in the shot put with a mark of 12.03m, and added another eighth place finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 43.45m and had a 34th place finish in the discus with a mark of 28.26m.
 
The 4x100m relay team of Grace Conner, Brionna Floydm, Hallie West and Julie Rottonghaus finished eighth with a time of 50.92 seconds.
 
Josie Koppes finished 11th in the 1500m with a time of 5:11.72, Kierra Jensen was 15th with a time of 5:15.81 and Alayna Behrman was 25th with a time of 5:22.42.
 
Hallie West placed 11th in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:24.07.
 
Yamyle Ramirez finished 12th in the triple jump with a mark of 10.51m, and Julie Rottinghaus finished 18th with a mark of 9.99m.
 
In the 100m preliminaries, Brionna Floyd placed 13th with a time of 12.45 seconds. Julie Rottinghaus was 18th with a time of 12.62 and Grace Conner was 22nd in 12.73 seconds.
 
Shelby Lingle placed 16th in the 400m with a time of 63.71 seconds.
 
Kierra Jensen placed 18th in the 800m with a time of 2:39.48 and Alayna Behrman was 21st with a time of 2:40.17.
 
In the 200m, Brionna Floyd was 19th with a time of 26.39 seconds, Julie Rottinghaus was 25th in 26.88, Grace Conner was 27th in 27.04 and Yamyle Ramirez was 36th in 27.93.
 
Julie Rottinghaus finished 19th in the long jump with a mark of 4.94m, and Dahn Hanlon finished 27th with a mark of 4.72m.
 
The Coyotes return to Wichita next weekend for the KT Woodman Classic hosted by Wichita State University at Cessna Stadium.
