KWU Women's Tennis Picks Up 6-1 Win Over Tabor

Kansas Wesleyan Women's Tennis picked up a 6-1 win over the Tabor Bluejays on Monday at the Tabor Tennis Courts.

The victory is the second of the season for the Coyotes, and second in conference play.

The Coyotes captured the doubles point in the match as Michaela Crowe (JR/Overland Park, Kan.) and Kristi Henderson (JR/Acton, Calif.) beat Tara Stewart and Bethany Yutzy 6-2. KWU also got a default win at No. 3 singles. Tabor won the other singles match as Fiorella Villa and Sarah Brunk beat Kaitlyn Wrye (SO/Olathe, Kan.) and Eliza Camp (SO/Winfield, Kan.) 6-3.

KWU took four of the five contested singles matches, and picked up a default win in a fifth.

Crowe beat Stewart 6-4, 7-5; Henderson beat Yutzy 6-2, 6-0; Camp beat Brunk 6-3, 6-4; and Wrye picked up a hard-fought three-set win over Binita Sitoula 7-6, 6-7, 10-6.

Tabor got its only singles win as Villa beat Kira McGrown (FR/Wichita, Kan.) 6-3, 6-1.

The Coyotes are back in action on Tuesday hosting the McPherson Bulldogs at Salina Tennis Center.
