KWU Women’s Soccer gets 1-0 Win Over Tabor

Graciela Lopez's 11th minute goal off a corner set piece was all the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes needed to knock off the Tabor Bluejays on Wednesday at JRI Hospitality Stadium at the Graves Family Sports Complex.

The corner kick was the first real action of the match between the teams and it yielded immediate excitement. Leoni Enzlmuller sent the low corner into the box at the near post and it found the foot of Lopez who slid it home for the goal.

The match did not feature a lot of offense from either side as the Coyotes were outshot 9-3 in the match.

Three different players had a shot for the Coyotes.

Keeper Allison Blumenthal recorded another clean sheet in goal, with three saves.

The Coyotes are back in action on Saturday, hosting Saint Mary at JRI Stadium. The match was originally scheduled to start at 5, but kickoff is pushed back 30 minutes to 5:30 to help accommodate the stadium changeover after KWU's football game earlier in the afternoon.
