KWU Women’s Soccer Falls to Ottawa 1-0

Erin Wetterstrom's goal in the ninth minute proved to be the difference as the Ottawa University Braves knocked off the Kansas Wesleyan women's soccer team at AdventHealth Field.

The lone goal was an offensive rarity in a defensive battle between both teams that only saw a combined 15 shots between the teams over the 90 minutes as KWU outshot Ottawa 8-7 in the match.

Wetterstrom's goal came in the ninth minute as she ended up with the ball in open space from 30 yards out and sent a shot that hit the crossbar and bounced into the goal.

The Coyotes had a pair of scoring chances in the first half but could not convert.

Precious Nwosu had KWU's lone shot on goal in the second half in the 74th minute, but could not convert.

The loss sends the Coyotes to 4-4-1 overall and 2-2 in the KCAC. The Coyotes host Tabor on Wednesday at JRI Hospitality Stadium at the Graves Family Sports Complex, then host Saint Mary on Saturday.
