KWU Men’s Track Continues Season at Bethel Invitational

Kansas Wesleyan Men's Track continued its season in the Bethel Invitational at Thresher Stadium.
 
Wesleyan had several strong performances in the meet including a couple event wins.
 
Brenden Ellis won the Steeplechase with a time of 9:43.92, Jake Cruz was fifth with a time of 10:05.31, Ian Doss was sixth in 10:08.21, Shane Calvin was seventh in 10:30.52 and Cameron Churchill-Dowd was eighth in 10:33.74.
 
Keegan Lott won the discus with a mark of 45.20m, Keyon Baccus finished sixth with a mark of 40.58m, Simeon Faagai finished 15th with a mark of 35.98m, and Dylan Worrell finished 23rd with a mark of 31.88m.
 
The 4x100m relay team of Tyler FontenotZamari Burrell, DeJaylon Beal and James Preston placed second with a time of 43.59 seconds.
 
KWU had four teams in the 4x400m relay led by the group of Wyatt JohnsonTy DavidsonJulian Avila and Carter Huyser finishing second with a time of 3:26.88. The group of Riley GarciaTriston CottoneNicolas Martinez and Giovanni Rios finished fourth with a time of 3:34.51. The group of Tytus ReedBrodie BradshawDamion Jackson and Zackary Tibbits finished seventh with a time of 3:42.88. The group of James Preston, Roman MaiCisco Alvarez and Jack Horacek finished ninth with a time of 3:52.92.
 
Giovanni Rios was third in the 800m with a time of 2:03.04, Tytus Reed was sixth in 2:03.40, Damion Jackson was seventh in 2:03.53, Zackary Tibbits was 12th in 2:06.33, Roman Mai was 13th in 2:06.54, Jack Horacek was 15th in 2:08.52, Cisco Alvarez was 18th in 2:10.77 and Brodie Bradshaw was 19th in 2:11.32.
 
In the shot put Dylan Worrell finished fourth with a mark of 13.56m, Keyon Baccus finished seventh with a mark of 13.09m, Simeon Faagai finished 10th with a mark of 12.24m, Cody Flax finished 18th with a mark of 10.85m.
 
James Preston finished fourth in the long jump with a mark of 6.15m, and Jaq'Son Birdwhistle-Bush finished 10th with a mark of 5.55m.
 
In the 200m, Zamari Burrell finished fifth with a time of 23.66 seconds, Riley Garcia was eighth in 23.83, DeJaylon Beal was 15th in 24.43 and James Preston was 17th in 24.72.
 
In the 400m, Wyatt Johnson finished fifth in 50.44 seconds, Carter Huyser was sixth in 50.91, Ty Davidson was 10th in 51.86, Juilan Avila was 14th in 52.27, Triston Cottone was 16th in 52.80, Nicolas Martinez was 18th in 53.36 and Tyler Fontenot was 26th in 57.99.
 
Keegan Lott finished sixth in the javelin with a mark of 49.75m.
 
In the hammer throw, Simeon Faagai finished seventh with a mark of 44.80m, and Keegan Lott finished 13th with a mark of 37.50m.
 
In the preliminaries of the 100m, Zamari Burrell finished seventh in 11.37 seconds, DeJaylon Beal finished ninth in 11.52 and Tyler Fontenot finished 19th in 11.89.
 
Coming up next for the Coyotes is the Friends Spring Open that runs April 4-6 at Adair-Austin Stadium in Wichita.
