Kansas Wesleyan Men's Cross Country had another outstanding race as the Coyotes posted a sixth place finish in the 23-team field at the Doane Blazing Tiger Invitational at Mahoney State Park on Saturday.
The Coyotes beat a few NAIA nationally ranked teams in the field including No. 8 ranked Oklahoma City and No. 15 ranked Southern Oregon.
Freshman phenom Damion Jackson paced the Coyotes over the 8K course with a 14th place finish with a time of 24:54.1. Shane Calvin was 23rd in 25:06.7, Austin Hess was 25th in 25:11.3, Giovanni Rios was 62nf in 26:01.5, Jake Cruz was 67th in 26:10.4, Tytus Reed was 69th in 26:12.1, Julian Avila was 72nd in 26:15.5, Wyatt Johnson was 95th in 26:37.9, Cisco Alvarez was 96th in 26:38.9, Carter Huyser was 109th in 26:51.3, Brenden Ellis was 112th in 26:54.9, Ty Davidson was 117th in 26:58, Nicolas Martinez was 126th in 27:01.2, Triston Cottone was 144th in 27:22.2, Zack Tibbits was 164th in 27:47, Jack Horacek was 169th in 27:51.9, Cameron Churchill-Dowd was 204th in 28:40.5, Roman Mai was 217th in 29:00.2, Brodie Bradshaw was 247th in 30:03.2, Remington Wiseman was 274th in 32:17.6, and Hayden Dotson was 284th in 35:14.8.
Saint Mary's Emad Bashir-Mohammed was the individual champion with a time of 24:07, for a 16-second victory leading the 291-person field.
College of Idaho was the team champion with a score of 56 points.
This was the final regular season tune-up for the Coyotes who will head to Winfield in two weeks for the KCAC Championships, hosted by Southwestern College.
