Jail Inmate Allegedly Destroys Piece Of Medical Equipment

On Thursday, December 9 around 9:20 pm at the Saline County Jail, a nurse was making her rounds. She was reportedly in a cell with an inmate, using a cart monitor. The inmate got upset and allegedly crashed the vital signs monitor into the wall, destroying the $2,932 piece of medical equipment.

Saline County Sheriff says that an officer is always present with the nurse while making rounds, and this situation was no different.

The inmate is James Mallett, of Salina. He has the following requested charge:
