From humble beginnings, Jason Bathon began a side business out of his basement in late 2017 called JAB IT PC. When Bathon moved to Salina in 2015, he saw a need for a computer and electronics store that offered repairs. "My goal was to be able to provide progressive, quality repairs and help the local community with a place to take devices to get fixed without having to go to Manhattan or Wichita," said the former veteran.
Fast forward to 2019; after a couple of location changes and quitting his full-time job, Bathon shifted his focus to JAB IT full-time and hired his first staff member. In 2021, they became incorporated as JAB IT LLC and moved to where they are now on Planet Ave with their five staff.
JAB IT has four core categories of products and services: Computer repair, Protection, Managed IT, and Consulting. Voted Best PC Sales and Service in 2020 and 2021, they can fix, repair, and upgrade all PC and Mac devices. Having been voted Best Home Security Service in 2021, there is also a wide range of protection devices and systems that JAB IT specializes in, from alarm and surveillance systems to wellness devices similar to Life Alert. If you want to turn your house into a modern-day smart home, they are equipped with lighting, sound systems, automation, and more. For small to medium businesses that may need additional tech support but are unable to invest in an on-staff IT team, they offer IT services. Most notably, they can help organizations protect their data with cybersecurity and disaster preparedness.
Giving back to the Salina community has been a significant focus for JAB IT. They are actively involved in many charities and organizations, providing resources to several Veterans groups, Salina Emergency Food Bank, Salina Area Young Professionals, etc. Staff members are highly encouraged to become involved in the community and are given up to 8 hours a month of paid time volunteering with local charities and non-profits. One of their most significant projects within the community has been installing security cameras in Downtown Salina. When Downtown Salina Inc. reached out for help getting much-needed protection to local businesses and residents, JAB IT was more than ready to take on the project. They have installed 40 cameras throughout the Downtown area, with more additional cameras planned in the future. These cameras have assisted in catching numerous criminal activities taking place, from dumpster fires to vehicle incidents. Bathon spends a significant amount of time reviewing footage and working closely with the Salina Police Department to handle these crimes.

"There is such a need for our service and reputable assistance that we have more than doubled our growth year after year," said Bathon.
