At 11:09 am on June 29, Salina police responded to a report of criminal threats at Hawthorne Park, located at 715 North Ninth Street. Officers were called to the scene for an intoxicated woman threatening to stab people. The suspect, identified as Alisha Swanigan, 45, of Salina, allegedly threatened to kill and stab everyone in the park in front of multiple witnesses.
Swanigan, who knew at least two of the individuals as acquaintances, did not have a weapon at the time of the incident. Police interviewed four people who heard the threats, including two males and two females. Children playing at the nearby splash park were also present during the encounter. Swanigan was taken into custody, and no injuries were reported.
