UPDATE FROM SALINE COUNTY FB PAGE: The HazMat team continues to work at the scene. Marymount Rd between Old 40 Hwy and North St remains closed. Drivers who must be in the area should use caution. Plan to use alternate routes. We anticipate the road to be open mid-afternoon but will send updates as the situation progresses.
UPDATE: Saline County Sheriff Soldan has given an update on this morning's accident involving a fuel tanker overturned at Old 40 and Marymount.
This morning at 2:42 am, a tractor pulling a trailer with 7500 gallons of diesel fuel, was turning south onto Marymount from Old 40. The driver cut the corner too close. The trailer rolled over, while part of the tractor remained upright.
There was a little bit of spill from the tractor, requiring HazMat to be on scene. The 2021 Mack truck is owned by a company out of Texas, who is currently on scene to off load the fuel. The company is hoping to be done with that by noon.
Marymount is currently closed just south of Old 40, or north of North St. There were no injuries.
UPDATE FROM SALINE COUNTY FB PAGE: HazMat is on the scene. No injuries. We will re-open the road as soon as possible. The intersection of Marymount Rd and Old 40 Hwy is closed due to a fuel tanker rollover. Please avoid the area to allow responders to work.
