Hospital Security Guard Injured During Incident

On November 17 at 8:56 am, officers responded to a possible disturbance at Salina Regional Health Center, 400 S Santa Fe. The incident involved a 32-year-old woman from Abilene. The subject was reportedly wielding a jagged piece of aluminum and attempting to inflict harm upon herself. Intervention by hospital security prevented further escalation, but during the confrontation, the subject allegedly inflicted multiple lacerations on a security guard's hand. The subject was arrested on a requested charge of aggravated battery.
