Hope For Hayden

Hope For Hayden

The cornhole bags were flying on Saturday, all in the name of bringing hope to a 12-year-old boy.

Bagging for the Ballou's was held at The District in Central Mall, 2259 S 9th.

Hayden Ballou is battling Leukemia for the second time in five years. His uncle, Michael Russell, set out on a mission to not only bring hope to his nephew but also raise money to help with mounting medical expenses.

Even though Hayden couldn't attend the party, friends, family, and strangers turned out at The District to play Hayden's favorite yard game, cornhole.

Bags were being tossed left and right in the large tournament, with at least twenty games going on at once.

A silent auction and raffle were also held, with prizes including autographed Kansas City Chiefs memorabilia, cornhole bags, a fire pit, and more.

When it was all said and done, $23,770 was raised to help Hayden and his family.
