Harvest Farmers Market Brings Local Goods to Salina Through Winter Season

Salina's Harvest Farmers Market is proving that fresh, local products aren't just for summer. The year-round market continues to serve the community throughout the colder months, offering residents access to locally grown produce and handmade goods even in winter.

The Winter Market operates from the first Tuesday in November through the last Tuesday in April, meeting every Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. The market takes a brief two-week break during the Christmas and New Year holidays before resuming operations.

Located inside the Emmanuel Foursquare Church Gymnasium at 1325 E Cloud Street, the market provides a warm, indoor shopping experience. Visitors should enter through the first door on the west end of the church building.

What's Available

This season, eleven regular vendors fill the gymnasium with a diverse array of products. Shoppers can find baked goods from multiple vendors, farm-fresh eggs, locally raised beef and pork, and a surprising variety of winter produce including lettuce, spinach, sweet potatoes, winter squash, onions, radishes, turnips, and spring greens.

Beyond food items, the market also features homemade jellies, salsas, pickles, dried flowers, seasoning mixes, Tupperware, and occasionally handcrafted soap.

The Vendors

Regular vendors include C & C Farms, Anne Serrault, Suru's Garden, Tina Reed, Shining Hope Tupperware, Carter's Bakery, Shroom-mates, Beachy Produce, Johnson Farms Country Market, Svaty's Produce, and Clarice's baked goods.

The market welcomes new vendors interested in joining the community of local producers and artisans.

Special holiday markets, including an upcoming Christmas Market, will feature additional vendors such as A Little Sweet and Pop's Popcorn, with possible appearances from Underwood Farms, Alondra Abigail Torres, and Wind River Farm.

For those seeking locally sourced food and handmade products throughout the winter months, the Harvest Farmers Market offers a convenient weekly opportunity to support local agriculture and small businesses while stocking up on quality goods.
