UPDATE: No Injuries in Saline County Fire

UPDATE: On Wedesday, August 30 at 1:06 pm, a 911 call came in for a fire in the 1800 block of E Old 40. Deputies and Rural Fire District 5 responded, and located a 53-year-old man who was burning in a fire pit, and the fire got out of control. An older camper was destroyed, and grass was burned. The property owner was a 49-year-old Salina man, who valued the camper at $200. There was talk of people possibly living in the camper, but there were no injuries. The fire was put out, and the 53-year-old man was issued a burn pit violation.


ORIGINAL: On Wednesday, August 30 at 1:15 pm, Rural Fire District 5 and first responders were sent to the 1800 block of E Old Highway 40, for a camper on fire. Reports indicate that the fire has spread to a tree. Approximately 2 acres of grass is also on fire. Salina311 will have more information as it becomes available.
