Goddard Man Apprehended in Recent Break-in at Local Auto Salvage Yard

On Tuesday, May 9 at Heath Auto Salvage, located on the 2600 block of W State St, Deputies arrested 45-year-old Toby Nelson from Goddard, KS, in connection to the theft of tires, rims, and catalytic converters, as well the the alleged possession of drugs, after he was allegedly caught breaking into the business and stealing items. On Monday, July 10 at 5 am, Deputies responded to Heath Auto Salvage after being notified of a break-in via an internal security system. During a search of the property, a Deputy allegedly located Toby Nelson in the process of removing another catalytic converter. Nelson was arrested without incident for the requested charges of criminal trespass, theft, and driving while suspended.

A search warrant was obtained on Nelson's pickup truck, leading to additional requested charges in connection to a theft from Friday, July 7 at the same location, as well as criminal trespass and criminal damage to property.

Nelson is also believed to be connected with a crime committed on Wednesday, June 28. The requested charges in this incident are theft and trespassing, which include 165 aluminum car wheels allegedly missing from the same location. The wheels are valued at $1,485.
