Update: Authorities responded to an early morning disturbance on Friday, leading to the arrest of a Salina man on multiple charges, including drug possession and aggravated battery. Officers were dispatched at 3:30 a.m. to the 200 block of East Antrim Street after receiving a third-party report of a fight. Upon arrival, police discovered evidence of an altercation, including blood in the street, which prompted them to obtain a search warrant for a nearby residence in the 1200 block of North Fourth Street.
At the residence, police arrested 30-year-old Justin Smull, who was initially charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and failure to have a drug tax stamp. During the investigation, authorities also found a 31-year-old man with facial lacerations and a swollen face, believed to be the victim of the altercation. The man had reportedly left the scene before the officers arrived.
Smull was later charged with aggravated battery in connection with the altercation, which occurred at the intersection of East Antrim and North Fourth St. Police confirmed that alcohol was a factor in the incident. The search warrant executed at Smull's residence uncovered evidence related to the fight as well as illegal drugs.
The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities continuing to gather details from the victim and other witnesses.
