Salina, KS (September 10, 2025) – The Fly Kansas Air Tour is returning to Salina this September, bringing with it a showcase of aircraft and opportunities in the aviation industry. The Salina Airport Authority is partnering with 1 Vision Aviation, the AIM Center of Excellence at SLN, the Salina Chamber of Commerce, Visit Salina, and the Greater Salina Community Foundation to welcome pilots from across the state.
The Air Tour is a long-standing Kansas tradition, highlighting the state’s deep ties to aviation. Salina last hosted the event in 2023.
Visitors will be able to connect with hobbyist pilots, explore STEM stations, and learn how local training programs can lead to high-demand, high-paying careers in aviation.
“Being able to host the Fly KS Air Tour back in Salina for the fifth time is a great thing for our community,” said Pieter Miller, Salina Airport Authority Executive Director. “Aviation is the second largest industry in Kansas, and Salina is a large piece of that. We are thrilled to welcome pilots from across the state, showcase our programs, and provide a chance for visitors to experience an overnight stay in Salina.”
Among the programs highlighted are offerings from the AIM Center of Excellence, which provides state-of-the-art facilities, hands-on training, and a unique “pre-apprenticeship” program—the first of its kind in Kansas. Graduates have nearly a 100% job placement rate after completing the six-week course.
The Fly Kansas Air Tour stop in Salina is open to the public and family-friendly. Visitors are invited Friday, Sept. 26, from 1:00–3:30 p.m. at Hangar 600, 2720 Arnold Court.
