On April 26th, at approximately 12:36 am, the Salina Police Department responded to a crash on Belmont near the corner of Mayfair. A single vehicle, a white 2012 Jaguar, was involved. It was traveling southbound on Belmont at a high speed when it failed to negotiate a curve, hitting a power pole and then a tree.
The driver, a 21-year-old female, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the front passenger, a 22-year-old female, was critically injured and transported to Salina Regional Health Center. The investigation is ongoing.
