Exploring Poetry through Artistry

Join the Salina Art Center for an exciting workshop that delves into the captivating realm of poetry intertwined with art. In this thought-provoking session, SAC will explore the mesmerizing world of patterns found in nature, visual art, music, math, time, and our daily lives. Alicia Kelly, a renowned artist known for her unique take on repetition and breaking patterns, will have her work showcased in the enlightening exhibition POV: Point of View. Additionally, SAC will have the opportunity to read a selection of short poems that exemplify various patterns.

This workshop will inspire participants to embrace their creativity and construct narrative poems by freely employing repetitive sounds, forms, and ideas. Open to middle school students, high school students, and adults, this workshop will be an enriching experience for individuals of all ages.

The workshop, Writing with Art:Patterns in Poetry, will be held on July 15 from 10-11:30 am, at the Salina Art Center, 242 S Santa Fe. The cost is $45. Follow this link to sign up.
