Salina Country Club Marks 115 Years With Anniversary Celebration and Look Ahead
Salina Country Club is beginning its 115th anniversary year with a member appreciation celebration, marking more than a century of tradition, community, and evolution in Salina.
The milestone also coincides with five years of stewardship under JRI Hospitality, a period that has brought renewed investment and a refreshed vision for the historic club.
Founded in 1911, Salina Country Club has long been a fixture in the community, serving generations through golf, dining, social events, and family traditions. The club was officially established on February 4, 1911, following the purchase of 163 acres of land earlier that year by a group of founding members.
The first clubhouse was completed in 1912, creating a dedicated social and recreational space for members. By 1913, the formation of the “Country Club Ladies” group signaled early involvement of women in both golf and club life, a role that continued to grow over time with organized tournaments and championships.
Over the decades, Salina Country Club evolved alongside the city itself. Significant facility upgrades took place in the late 1960s, including clubhouse renovations, a new swimming pool, and improvements to course irrigation. Additional milestones followed in the 1980s and 1990s, as the club expanded its role as both a golf destination and a family-oriented social hub.
In 2009, a major renovation modernized several aspects of the club, reinforcing its place in the community. The club celebrated its centennial in 2011 and continued refining golf operations and member services in the years that followed.
A new chapter began in 2021 when JRI Hospitality acquired Salina Country Club. Since that time, the club has emphasized hospitality-driven service, expanded programming, and enhanced the overall member experience while maintaining the traditions that define the property.
The anniversary celebration serves as the official kickoff to a yearlong recognition of the club’s legacy. The member event includes complimentary food and beverages, opportunities for members to connect, raffles featuring curated prize packages, and introductions to new staff supporting daily operations.
While the celebration reflects on 115 years of history, it is also intended to look forward. Club leadership plans to share insight into the future direction of Salina Country Club, including potential enhancements and experiences designed to serve both current members and future generations.
