Mr. Eddie Creer, the esteemed Director of Music at Salina South High School, has been honored with the North Central District's 2023-24 Outstanding High School Level Educator Recognition. His unwavering dedication to nurturing the potential in every student is a true reflection of the core values embraced by Salina Public Schools.
This milestone marks Mr. Creer's 43rd year in the teaching profession. He earned his BME from Oklahoma State University in 1981 and subsequently spent four impactful years teaching Vocal Music grades 6-12 in Cushing, Oklahoma. Since joining Salina South, he has been a cornerstone of the educational community, initially instructing four choirs and one ensemble. While AP Music Theory had a brief tenure, programs like Classical Guitar and Engineering Sound Production were introduced and have endured, continuing alongside his Vocal classes.
Mr. Creer's philosophy centers around the belief that individuals are endowed by their Creator with an innate affinity for producing and enjoying gratuitous beauty. Through his commitment to music education, Mr. Creer provides his students with a meaningful avenue to participate in the essence of their human creation.
