On Friday, November 24, at 5:37 pm, deputies responded to a vehicle accident at mile post 255 on I-70. The driver, identified as 28-year-old Andres Flores from Ellenwood, KS, reportedly lost control of his westbound vehicle, resulting in it rolling into a ditch.
Adding a layer of intrigue to the scene, Flores was observed fleeing into the nearby trees clutching a container. He later returned to the crash site, prompting deputies to launch a search of the vicinity. Their efforts found a container believed to contain marijuana.
Subsequently, Flores found himself in custody, facing requested charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and unsafe speed for conditions.
