On Monday, July 31 at 8:40 am, a collision occurred on Interstate 70 at MM 258, involving two westbound vehicles, resulting in significant damage. The incident happened when a 2011 Ford F350, driven by a 21-year-old male from Kansas City, Missouri, rear-ended a 2020 Freightliner semi-tractor trailer truck for unknown reasons.
The impact caused damage to both vehicles. The 51-year-old male driver of the semi, from Lee's Summit, Missouri, was taken to SRHC by EMS, being treated and released.
The driver of the Ford was cited for following too close. KDOT was dispatched to the scene for clean up.
