On July 20 at 10:15 am, officers responded to a domestic disturbance at the Travelers Lodge, 245 South Broadway Boulevard, where a woman was reportedly being chased in the parking lot by a vehicle. The victim was a 36-year-old female from McPherson.

The altercation began with an argument between the victim and her boyfriend, identified as Christopher Todd Wilson, 32, of Salina. During the dispute, Wilson threw a phone at the woman, hitting her in the face. As she exited her vehicle, Wilson grabbed her by the throat from behind and took her to the ground. Fearing for her safety, she complied with Wilson's demands. He then took her phone and threw it.

The victim managed to flee but was caught again by Wilson, who threw her to the ground a second time. She eventually agreed to get into the vehicle and began driving. In the 200 block of South Chicago Avenue, she exited the vehicle and ran to the Travelers Lodge parking lot, where witnesses saw her being pursued by Wilson. Believing he was going to hit her with the vehicle, the witnesses called the police, prompting Wilson to drive away.

Police located Wilson's vehicle in the 1700 block of West Crawford Street and found him hiding in the bathroom of Taco Bell, possibly armed with a knife. He was apprehended by the police and sheriff’s office, who discovered methamphetamine in his possession. Wilson faces charges including aggravated battery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, robbery, criminal restraint, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The victim sustained minor injuries but refused medical assistance.
