On Wednesday, July 26 at 9:55 pm, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of S 5th for a reported domestic. The incident was called in by the 36-year-old female victim.

The alleged argument escalated near a staircase, with the assailant, identified as Jesse Harris, 32 years old, positioned at the top while she stood at the base. During the altercation, Harris allegedly threw a pan in her direction. Fortunately, the victim managed to avoid being struck, but a picture frame and a plate were damaged in the process, totaling an estimated value of $25.

Upon the arrival of officers, Harris allegedly dashed out the back door to a parked blue 2008 Dodge Avenger behind the house. He allegedly locked himself inside, with officers trying to talk him out of the vehicle for 30 minutes.

There were no vehicle keys, so an officer eventually shattered the rear driver's side window and deployed pepper spray into the vehicle. The tactic proved successful as Harris emerged from the car, allowing the officers to make an arrest.

Harris now faces requested charges of assault, damage to property, and interference with enforcement.
