Disturbance at Roadway Inn Leads to Arrest for Robbery
In the early hours of July 27th, police were dispatched to the Roadway Inn at 3932 South Ninth Street following a disturbance report. The incident involved a 44-year-old male visiting Sarah Roe, a 41-year-old female. The pair had been drinking in the room with various individuals coming and going.
According to the male victim, Roe received a text message from an unknown subject instructing her to send him out of the room. Fearing a robbery, the man held onto his cash, but Roe forcibly took $400 from his hand and then pushed him out, locking the door behind him. She refused to reopen the door for both him and the responding officers.
When officers managed to gain entry, they found the stolen money hidden under the sink. During the arrest, Roe resisted and struck an officer. Consequently, she was taken into custody and faces charges of robbery, interference, and battery against a law enforcement officer.
