At Tuesday's County Commission meeting, Community Corrections requested approval by signature of the Juvenile Corrections Advisory Board (JCAB) grant application and memoranda of agreement with subcontracting agencies. Funds from this grant are used to provide cognitive programming for juveniles by Community Corrections, additional programming and family assistance through Childrenโs Advocacy and Parenting Services, Inc. (CAPS) and mediation services through Salina Initiative for Restorative Justice (SIRJ). This application is for the two-year cycle FY24 and FY25. The total allocation for these programs for the two years is: $393,133.40. SIRJ is a new part of the application for this grant cycle, so the memorandum of agreement with them is new rather than ongoing.
Budget Impact
If approved, these funds from KDOC will support programming at Community Corrections, CAPS and SIRJ.
