On Monday, March 25, The Kansas Department of Transportation plans to begin a concrete pavement patching project on I-70, east of Salina, in Saline County.
Work will begin west of Niles Road about .5 mile and continue east about 5.8 miles to the Saline/Dickinson County line.
During construction, traffic will be reduced to one lane at a reduced speed through the work zone. Drivers should expect minimal delays, not exceeding five minutes.
Interstate Improvement, Inc. of Faribault, Minnesota is the prime contractor for this $1.78 million project and has scheduled work to be completed by July, weather permitting.
KDOT urges all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a highway work zone. To stay aware of all road construction projects across Kansas, go to www.kandrive.org or call 5-1-1.
