Salina, KS – Signs are appearing around Downtown Salina as the community prepares for the launch of the new Common Consumption Area (CCA). The program will officially begin on Monday, September 1, Labor Day. Until that date, all alcoholic beverages must remain inside licensed establishments or within approved sidewalk dining areas.
Once active, the CCA will allow patrons to carry and enjoy alcoholic beverages in approved plastic cups from participating businesses while walking within the designated downtown boundary.
Businesses wishing to participate must complete the Common Consumption Area Participant Request Permit:
- Licensed Premise: An on-premise licensee located within or immediately adjacent to the Salina CCA may apply after receiving approval from the State of Kansas Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC), using Form ABC-838.
- Caterers: A caterer may apply with a valid, approved Caterer’s License issued by the State of Kansas.
Applications and details about the program can be found online at: salina.govbuilt.com/cca.
The City of Salina will release additional information, including maps and the list of participating businesses, as the start date approaches.
