Fantastic Non-Fiction Book Group: The Kissing Bug
Thursday, June 15 @ 6:15 pm
Growing up in a New Jersey factory town in the 1980's, Daisy Hernández believed that her aunt had become deathly ill from eating an apple. But as Hernández dug deeper, she discovered that Chagas—or the kissing bug disease—is more prevalent in the United States than the Zika virus. The Kissing Bug tells the story of how poverty, racism, and public policies have conspired to keep this disease hidden. Join SPL in the Campbell Room to discuss this month's title. Attendance is free and registration is required. Can’t make it in person? You can also attend via Zoom. A link will be sent to all participants the day of the meeting so you can choose what works best for you. A limited number of copies of each title are available for checkout.
