Salina, KS — The streets of downtown Salina are brighter than ever after the completion of the BOOM! 2025 Mural Festival, which brought five new large-scale artworks to the city’s growing outdoor gallery. International and local artists spent the past week transforming walls across downtown into vivid expressions of creativity, community, and culture.
This year’s featured artists included Amy Sol, CrashOne, Mindy Allen, Drew Merritt, and Insane51, each contributing their own distinctive style to Salina’s expanding mural landscape. The final touches were completed this morning by Insane51, whose work has drawn crowds for its intricate design and visual depth.
Festival organizers extended special thanks to artist and curator Joe Iurato, whose leadership helped guide the event’s vision and coordination.

Among the featured artists, Mindy Allen, known professionally as Mindy’s Murals, added her second large-scale outdoor piece to downtown. Allen’s mural, themed around “taking time to stop and smell the flowers,” reflects her signature mix of color, realism, and optimism. In addition to her downtown contributions, she has completed interior murals at Kansas Hempire and Barolo Grille, further cementing her presence in Salina’s art scene.
With this year’s additions, downtown Salina now boasts an even richer public art experience, offering residents and visitors alike a chance to explore creativity at street level.
For those who haven’t made it downtown yet, the newly completed murals are now on full display — a lasting tribute to Salina’s growing reputation as a hub for public art and cultural vitality.
