Centennial Rd Improvements, Street, & Sidewalk Construction Begins

Monday, February 19th through June 30th, Centennial Road will be closed between Water Well Road and Arnold for construction of the Centennial Road Improvement project. T&R Construction of Salina will be removing the roadway and installing new road, along with curb and gutter for improved drainage.

Centennial Road will be closed to traffic during the project to help expedite construction. Traffic will be detoured to Scanlan Avenue with properties along Centennial Road having access via Vortex Avenue and Wall Street.

The Centennial Road Improvement project has been designed to improve vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian traffic between Water Well Road and the south city limits located near the water tower. The project will include the reconstruction of Centennial Road to handle future traffic loads with new 16-foot lanes and incorporated bike lanes, curb and gutter, the reconstruction of intersections at Vortex Ave and Wall Street, a 10-foot multiuse trail along the east side and a 5-foot sidewalk on the west side for pedestrian access.
