Celebrate National Library Week April 23-29, 2023
The Salina Public Library encourages all community members to visit the library during National Library Week, April 23-29, to explore all they have to offer.
Most people know about the wealth of stories available at the library, from picture books and large print to audiobooks and ebooks. But there's so much more to the story of libraries.
Libraries are welcoming spaces that bring communities together for entertainment, education, and connection through book clubs, storytimes, movie nights, crafting classes, author talks, and more. The Salina Public Library offers a wide array of programs, classes and resources, including a Library of Things collection, Yoga classes, a Seed Library, and a new Genealogy workshop series.
And libraries play a critical role in the economic vitality of communities by providing internet and technology access, literacy skills, and support for job seekers, small businesses, and entrepreneurs. The Salina Public Library supports Saline County and the surrounding area with services such as their ESL or English as a Second Language programs and Walk in One-on-One technology help.
The Modern Woodmen have pledged up to a $2,500 match for the donations to the Salina Public Library during the month of April. The investments made from the local community are put towards improving the learning and play spaces for youth as well as the expansion of free educational programming and resources.
