Cease-and-Desist Order Halts Operations at Genesis Health Club, SKY Trampoline Park, Salina Smash Pickleball & The Back Alley

Update: GM of SKY Trampoline Park Josh Gardner stated that they will be back open this afternoon in a couple of hours.


Salina Building Services has issued a cease-and-desist order requiring the immediate suspension of business operations at multiple tenant spaces located at 1820 and 1830 South 9th Street, according to a notice posted by the City of Salina.

The order applies to the following businesses and units:

  • 1830 S. 9th Street – Genesis Health Club
  • 1820 S. 9th Street – SKY Trampoline Park
  • 1820, Unit B – Salina Smash Pickleball
  • 1820, Unit C – The Back Alley of Salina

According to the notice, the order directs the owner of the businesses to cease all business operations immediately due to violations of locally adopted building and fire codes.

Requirements to Resume Operations

The document states that, in order to resume business operations, the property owner must obtain a Certificate of Completion for work required to correct the cited violations. The process must be completed through the City of Salina’s building permit and inspection system.

The notice references violation case number VIOL-25-3365 and instructs property representatives to coordinate with the Salina Building Services Division.

Enforcement Authority

The order was issued under the authority of Section 116.1 of the 2018 International Building Code, which allows the Building Official to declare structures unsafe when conditions exist that may pose risks to human life or public welfare.

The notice cites conditions including, but not limited to:

  • Inadequate means of egress
  • Fire hazards
  • Unsafe or deficient building conditions
  • Improper or illegal occupancy
  • Inadequate maintenance
