Business Burglary In West Salina Leads To Arrest

At 10pm on Saturday, November 13, Salina Police were sent to the area of 1123 W Crawford for the report of a burglar alarm within a business.

Upon arriving, police were met by employees of RentOne in front of the building. The front doors were secure. A business employee let officers in the building.

While securing the building, officers found the back door open. An officer stepped outside to the alley and observed a male holding a tool bag. A foot chase ensued.

A K9 was brought out, and the male was tracked to the 700 block of Windsor Dr. It was here that police located James Miller, a 33-year-old from Salina.

Miller was allegedly armed with a 33mm handgun.

Back at the business, employees realized they were missing a DEWALT 4-piece power tool combo set valued at $500, 2 Porter-Cable power tool combo sets valued at $800 each, a Swagtron EB5 Pro Plus electric bike valued at $1100, and a Hisense 43 in. TV valued at $640.

All items were recovered in the alley behind the business, except for the TV.

SPD believes there is a second individual involved.

James Miller was arrested on requested charges of burglary, theft, and criminal possession of a firearm.
