SALINA, KS — National off-price retailer Burlington will open its first Salina store on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 2450 South 9th Street, located in Mid State Plaza. The new store adds to the city’s growing commercial presence along the South 9th Street corridor.
Burlington, formerly known as Burlington Coat Factory, specializes in discounted brand-name clothing, footwear, accessories, home décor, and more. The company offers prices typically 20%–60% below traditional retail, targeting value-conscious shoppers.
The Salina location occupies a space formerly used by Big Lots, which closed in 2024. It joins a lineup of national retailers already operating in Mid State Plaza, including Marshalls, Hobby Lobby, Petco, Ashley Furniture, Dollar Tree, and Dick’s Sporting Goods.
Burlington’s expansion into the Salina market reflects broader retail development trends across central Kansas, with several national chains investing in new or remodeled locations throughout the region. Company representatives have not yet released hiring or store-specific details, though opening promotions are expected as the launch date approaches.
The public is invited to attend the grand opening on August 15. Regular store hours and promotional information will be posted closer to the opening date on Burlington’s official website and social media channels.
