Rural Fire District #2 responded to a rekindled brush pile fire in south Saline County.
Undersheriff Melander says that responders were sent to the 400 block of E Water Well Rd at 3:41 pm. A 53-year-old man had called in a burn permit, to burn some items in a brush pile on his property. Believing it was burned down, and thinking the fire was out, he left the area. A short time later, it rekindled, catching grass on fire before traveling to a wood pile close to some out buildings. The fire was called in by a neighbor.
