The Salina Police Department tells Salina311 officers responded to a welfare check involving a suspected DUI driver in the drive-thru at Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers on South Ninth Street.
According to police, officers arrived on scene to check on the driver’s welfare. During the encounter, the individual allegedly became combative and attempted to fight officers.
Police say a Taser was deployed during the altercation. The individual received medical care following the incident.
At this time, no information has been released regarding whether charges are pending. Police also reported no injuries to Salina Police Department officers.
