Brainy Babies & Storytime Return to Salina Public Library

The last time Brainy Babies was held at Salina Public Library, some of the little ones weren't even born.

Others are now big siblings, while the rest are finally talking and walking.

Salina Public Library held the kid approved programs Brainy Babies and Storytime for the first time since March 2020.

For anyone keeping track, that was 17 months ago.

Despite the pandemic sized break, the kids were super excited to be with their friends, dance, sing, and just plain old get the wiggles out.

Brainy Babies is a program designed for kids birth-2 years. In this 30 minutes, kids learn songs, finger play games, and dances, while their Bigs (the grown-ups) learn how to engage in the activities, as well.

Storytime is geared toward older kids, from 3-5 years of age. For 45 minutes, different books are read, staged around a common theme.

Ms Heather is the staff person in charge of both programs.

Before COVID-19, these programs were held in the Prescott Room, located in the youth wing of the library.

However, due to concerns, they have both been temporarily moved to the courtyard behind the Library, known as Caldwell Plaza. This area sets between the library and city county buildings, and can be accessed without entering the library.

Brainy Babies happens on Wednesdays at 9:15-9:45. Storytime is on Wednesdays from 10:15-11.
