Emergency responders discovered a deceased individual in a wooded area near downtown Salina on Wednesday morning, according to local authorities.
Salina Police Dispatch received a report at 10:43 a.m. on November 20th regarding the discovery in the dry creek bed between the YMCA at 570 YMCA Drive and Kenwood Park Drive. Officers from the Salina Police Department and members of the Salina Fire Department responded to the scene and located the body.
According to police, the individual appeared to have been deceased for several days prior to discovery. Investigators found no immediate indication of foul play at the scene.
An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending positive identification and notification of next of kin.
